Extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities represent an integral and very important a significant area in the overall educational activity of the center.

The school plans and will implement a variety of extracurricular activities that reflects the needs and interests of students and serves to support their personal and social development, such as for example:

• - student sections;
• - competitions;
• - excursions;
• - open days of the center;
• - student community; and
• - socially useful and humanitarian work.

During the implementation of extracurricular activities, the school will provide conditions and strive to:

• - Involvement of the majority of students in at least one extracurricular activity to support personal and social development, regardless of their gender, ethnicity and social background;
• - Inclusion of students with special educational needs and students from families with low socio-economic status in extracurricular activities;
• - Students should be involved in extracurricular activities of their own choice; and
• - Students have a key role in preparing the work programs for the extracurricular activities.

Student Sections

Through the sections, assumptions are made for the individualization of the educational process, for satisfying and nurturing the individual interests and abilities of the students. Significant educational results are achieved through the sections.

The tasks of the sections are:

• - To encourage and nurture children's curiosity, cognitive abilities and creativity of students;
• - Students should be introduced to tasks that require greater independence in their execution;
• - To cultivate consistency and perseverance in the performance of student obligations; and
• - To create habits among students for correct and rational use of free time.

The sections will be realized in the free time of the students and based on appropriate programs.

Within this educational area, various sections will work in the school this school year, such as the following:

• - Young hoteliers
• - Young chefs
• - Young waiters
• - Literary section
• - Environmental section
• - Information section
• - Young athletes
• - Young nutritionists

Excursions

Student excursions are such a form of educational work through which students:

• - they become familiar with objects and phenomena in their natural environment and in their living conditions;
• - expand their knowledge, gain insights into separate areas of people's life and work;
• - they get to know the natural beauties and the cultural-historical sights of the closer and wider community;
• - Through the excursions, among other things, a positive attitude towards nature and the human environment is formed, the students' health is strengthened, which contributes to their proper growth and development, and wide opportunities are provided for the socialization of the young person and for developing a positive attitude towards work in general.

Competitions

Student competitions are a form of activities through which a student or a group of students strive to achieve better educational results. Competitions play a significant role in the development of a student's personality. Through them, students' interest in a certain activity is encouraged and developed, thus, an active attitude towards teaching and evaluation of the achieved results is established.

Based on the achieved results and the belief in the potential of our students, it is planned that our students take active participation, as before, in upcoming gastro competitions (organized by GATUS, AEHT, BAHA, etc., in our country and more widely in the region), as well as at various sports competitions, literary contests, MASSUM, etc. competitions that will be organized at the local, national and international level.

School open days

Open days of the center will be held in the period from March to June 2024, when it will be implemented presentation of the center to primary school students from the city and the region. During the open days it will be possible to visit the Center by parents-guardians and children who should be students at the center, to get to know the center, educational qualifications, staff and more. In the realization of the open days of most of the teaching staff and students of all ages and qualifications will take an active part in the center, while they will present the acquired knowledge and skills in the field of cooking and pastry work, bartending and flambéing dishes, welcoming guests, making a POWER POINT presentation, flyers, posters, etc..
